Welcome to FreakyStamps.com. This a website dedicated to US stamps that present production errors. FreakyStamps has been an online business since 2004. Developed, owned and managed since 2004 by Steve Crippe.

Steve Crippe is recognized as one of the leading experts in the United States errors in stamps, and his contirbution to the expertising and pricing for the stamps on this site is invaluable and greatly appreciated.

Steve Crippe - Stamp Expert

I started collecting stamps at age 10, following my father's example. Quite typically, I drifted away from the collection at about age 14, then gained renewed interest again in my mid-thirties.

I began buying larger lots to obtain stamps I needed for my collection, and quickly discovered that I could retain wanted items and re-sell the balance to recover my cost. It was a good approach to aid in building my collection, but also stimulated my interest in becoming a stamp dealer.

I became interested in Printing Errors and Freaks when I purchased a drastically miscut booklet at the Post Office at age 10 or 11. (I still have this item!) My business has evolved over the last 20 years and I now make my living as a Full-time stamp dealer.

Steve is a current member of the American Stamp Dealers Association, American Philatelic Society, United States Stamp Society, Error, Freaks and Oddities Collectors Club and the Florida Stamp Dealers Association.
